1,124,769. Dispensing web from a roll. R. N. BRANDON. 24 March, 1966, No. 13084/66. Heading A4G. Household wrap 20, 42 passes from a roll in a container 11 having a removable top 17, between inner and outer walls 28, 39 hinged to the top, over a slotted hump 28a, 30 in the inner wall containing a knife 34 and out at 31. A length of web is pulled out and by depressing the walls against a sponge rubber spring 32 the wrap is gripped by members 28b, 30b on either side of the hump and as the hump also descends, the knife is raised by lid members 23 entering the slot base to cut the wrap. Two resilient rubber members on the lid on either side of a cutter may replace members 32, 28b, 30b and only the outer hinged top is provided, the cutter being formed integral with a moulded lid.
