Abstract

1,122,535. Turnstiles &c. E. M. TRIKILIS. 16 March, 1967 [21 March, 1966], No. 12306/ 67. Heading E1J. A turnstile comprises a fixed head 3 secured to a supporting frame 2 by bolts 6 and has a hollow circular recess 8 which houses an undulating cam member 15 secured to a rotatable head 22 secured by bolt 24 and nut 23 to the fixed head 3 and separated therefrom by a plastics covered spring washer 27 between the cam 15 and head 3, resiliently mounted cam followers 11 in radial bores in the fixed head 5 cooperating with detents 16 in the cam to arrest rotation of the movable head, the detents having a sharp stop edge 20, a sloping riding surface 17 and a resting surface 18, and the rotatable head carries arms 24, say at 120‹ apart so that in the position where the cam followers are in the detents at the resting surfaces, one arm 24 then extends across the pathway. For rotation of the movable head in either direction the stop edge 20 of the cam detents is replaced by another riding surface 17.
