Abstract

1,118,387. Making transformer cores. BRUSH ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. 26 Jan., 1967, No. 4044/67. Heading B3A. A method of making transformer cores comprises cutting strips of sheet steel into lengths equal to the total length of all the limbs and cross-members plus a cutting allowance and casting the assembly in epoxy-resin or other material into a single block from which the individual limbs 1, 2, 3 and cross-members 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b are cut. Alternatively the strips may be coated with epoxy-resin or other material before assembly and subsequently subjected to a curing process. In a further alternative the limbs are cut from one assembly and the cross members cut from a second assembly, both assemblies having been formed by either of the foregoing methods.
