Abstract

1,045,401. Making transformer cores. ELECTRO-NETIC STEEL Inc. May 20, 1963 [Nov. 27, 1962], No. 19914/63. Heading B3A. [Also in Division H1] A method of making transformer core laminations, each of U-shaped configuration, having legs 12, 14 (Fig. 1, not shown), of equal width b but different in length by the width a of a bight portion 16, which joins the legs with a spacing equal to the width of one of the legs, comprises cutting from one side of a strip of magnetically permeable magnetic material of a width four times the width of one of the legs, one 82, of a first pair of interdigitated blanks of the said U-shaped configuration, cutting one, 84, of a second pair of interdigitated blanks of said configuration from said one side of thestrip so as to leave attached to the strip a remanent portion (86, 88) which is divisible into the second one of each of said first and second pairs of blanks, and then dividing the said remanent portion and separating it from the strip.
