Abstract

1,115,901. Spray-producers. DORMAN SPRAYER CO. Ltd. 4 Feb., 1965 [4 Nov., 1963], No. 43412/63. Heading B2F. A spraying nozzle assembly incorporating a check valve for use in a pump operated power sprayer of the type described in specification 703,425 comprises a nozzle 1 attached to a tubular plug 3 by a threaded collar 2. The bore of the plug is formed in two coaxial portions 5a, 5b of different diameters so as to provide a shoulder 6 which serves as a seat for a flange 7b of the bobbin-shaped check valve 7. A cylindrical filter 8 is connected axially to the nozzle 1. In use the nozzles are screwed into appropriate openings in the spray bar of the sprayer. On the application of suction to the bar the flange 7b of each valve is drawn on to its associated seating 6 thereby preventing or impeding the entry of air into the nozzle so eliminating nozzle drip.
