Abstract

1,112,683. Selective printers. ENGLISH NUMBERING MACHINES Ltd. 14 June, 1966 [18 June, 1965], No. 26004/65. Heading B6F. A selective printer having a plurality of type wheels 1 mounted on a rotatable shaft 2 and each having a plurality of raised characters which between them define toothed spaces for engagement with teeth of index setting wheels 3 is provided with a non-circular shaft 4 having a pair of arcuate surfaces 5 which form bearing surfaces for the index setting wheels 3 staggered in alternately opposite radial directions and pressed resiliently against the surfaces 5 by pairs of oppositely facing fingers 9 engaging bearing surfaces 11 (Fig. 4) and depending from a pair of opposite frame members 7. Aligning for impression.-Type wheels are aligned for impression by pivotally mounted pawls 14 having a pair of lugs 13, 15 which engage in the toothed spaces of the respective type wheels 1 and index setting wheels.
