Abstract

1,110,507. Hollow-nosed bullets. DYNAMIT NOBEL, A.G. 19 Aug., 1966 [19 Aug., 1965], No. 37388/66. Heading F3A. A bullet, for use in the hunting of game, comprising a lead core 1, a surrounding steel or copper alloy case 2 and a frusto-conicaily shaped nose 3, is provided at its front end with a depression 4 and a sharp cornered edge 5, the length of the nose being 1À25 to 1À75 times the calibre of the bullet, and the diameter of the edge and the greatest depth of the depression being, respectively, 0À25 to 0À4 calibres and 0À20 to 0À4 calibres. The depression 4 is conical or spherical. The wall thickness of the case optionally diminishes towards the front end.
