Abstract
1,110,454. Window stays. INTERLOCK INDUSTRIES Ltd. 20 July, 1965, No. 30842/65. Heading E2F. A stay bar 18 sliding in a hole in one side of a member 12 secured to the window sill 34 and articulated to a member 20 secured to the window sash is of elliptical cross-section so that by rotating the bar 18, by a handle portion 26, it will jam in the hole in the member 12 and so secure the window in an adjusted position. A screw 13 may be tightened to take up wear in the hole in the member 12. A portion of the bar 18 has opposed flats 28 to enable it to be disengaged from the hole in the member 12, the hole having an opening at one side. In a further embodiment (Fig. 6, not shown) the head of the member 12 may swivel out of the horizontal plane. When the window is fully closed the bar 18 may be retained behind a conventional "T" section bracket secured to the window mullion or stile. The bar and/or the surface of the hole may be plated or polished.
