Abstract

1,109,513. Sliding windows. PERCY LANE Ltd. 24 June, 1966 [27 March, 1965], No. 13091/65. Heading E1J. A vehicle window comprising a sliding pane 17 and a fixed pane 16 in a W-sectioned frame 11 is located on the surrounding flange 5, 6 by an S-sectioned rubber strip 18 which has a nylon flock lining on the interior of the channel formed by the walls 21, 23 and 24, in which pane 17 slides. The frame 11 is spaced from the upper part 7 of the body skin 3 by a sponge rubber insert 30. The channel 20 of the strip 18 is convergent outwards and the channel 19 divergent outwards in the unstressed state of the strip (Fig. 2, not shown). The flanges 5 and 6 may be spot welded together, and metal clips 28 (Fig. 3, not shown) or screws 29 (Fig. 4, not shown) may be employed to connect the flange 14 of the frame 11 to flanges 5 and 6.
