Abstract

110,667. Dyson, A. Jan. 16, 1917. Edges, treating. - Apparatus for uncurling selvedges and for removing creases in piece goods comprises obliquely arranged bars F, in each of which is mounted a rubber or other resilient strip L and which are adjustably mounted in a rectangular frame pivoted to the table &c. D of a plaiting, dyeing, or finishing machine. As shown, the bars F are provided with notched metal strips J and notched resilient strips L, the resilient strips being vertically adjustable in the bars F by means of screws X. The bars are adjusted vertically in the frame by means of screw-shafts S operated through wormwheels R from a worm-shaft M provided with a hand-wheel P. In operation, the fabric passes under the bars in engagement with the notched strips in a direction opposite to that in which the apex of the bars points. According to the Provisional Specification, metal strips may be used without the resilient strips.
