Abstract
1,106,555. Transformers; electromagnets. ALLMNNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 16 July, 1965 [17 July, 1964], No. 30245/65. Headings H1P and H1T. A winding for a time-lag over-current relay or a current transformer comprises a multi-layer coil having intermediate turns raised above the rest of the coil so that they can be contacted by a removable screwed tapping member 20 (Fig. 1) carried by a spring-urged contact-plate 16. Part of the winding 5 is wound evenly on an inner bobbin 4, the remaining part being wound on an outer bobbin 7 having flanged portions 10 grooved to carry the raised portions of the intermediate turns. A screw 21 is arranged so that it contacts the winding to prevent the current path through the winding from being broken when the contact 20 is not making contact with one of the raised turns. The contact arrangement shown in Fig. 1 may be replaced by a contact plate 16 (Figs. 4 and 5, not shown) biased by a spring member 31 and pivoted on an insulating member 22 which is provided with grooves 25 in a direction perpendicular to the coil axis into any of which a contact plug 26 can be pushed. The contact plate has a lip 30 which contacts the winding when the contact plug is wholly or partly removed.
