Abstract
1,106,137. Chip-board plant. INDUMA INDUSTRIE MASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 13 Oct., 1966 [14 Oct., 1965], No. 45796/66. Heading Heading B5A. In a chip-board making plant, chip material and binder from hoppers 2 is deposited on to pallets 3, carried by a conveyer 1, and then prepressed by a press 6. The pallets carrying the pre-pressed blanks are then transferred in succession to a multi-stage heated press 8, via a weighing device 15, by a feed device comprising a double paternoster arrangement of chains 10 and 10a, each of which carries rows of fingers 13 (see Fig. 3). The pallets are raised by' the cooperating rows of fingers 3 and when the feed device is full the pallets and blanks are pushed into the press by a push bar 16. The bar 16 carries clamping jaws 20 which engage heads 21 on the pallets so that they can be withdrawn from the press 8 prior to pressing the blanks. The pressed blanks are subsequently drawn out of the press, on to a second double paternoster conveyer 27, by a pull bar 28 having jaws 29 and are deposited one-by-one on to a take-off conveyer 30. The pallets, after withdrawal from the press are raised one-by-one into contact with a conveyer 35 which transfers them to a feedback conveyer 33 whence they are returned to the conveyer, for reuse, by a third double paternoster device 34.
