Abstract

1,104,782. Forging and stamping presses H. BECHE. 28 Sept., 1965 [28 Sept., 1964] No. 41175/65. Addition to 1,059,127. Heading B3H. In a drop forging or stamping press according to Specification 1,059,127, the tup 2 is driven by two opposed plungers 4, 5. The latter act on the tup through an interposed column of oil. Plunger 4 is driven directly by hydraulic fluid admitted through pipe 6, and drives the opposed plunger 5 through an hydraulic link 7, 8, 9, 10. The tup 2 is raised by cylinders 11 which also retract the plungers 4, 5. The latter may be arranged vertically instead of horizontally.
