Abstract
1,099,421. Hydraulic presses. VUMA, VYSKUMNY USTAV MECHANIZACIE A AUTOMATIZACIE. July 2, 1965 [July 11, 1964], No. 28158/65. Heading B5F. An hydraulic press comprises a fixed housing 7 provided with cams 8, 9, 10, and a rotatable part 5 carrying at least three hydraulic cylinders 6 each of which is connected to an additional cylinder 13, the pistons 16 of the cylinders 6 being connected to rollers 19 adapted to engage the cam 10 and the pistons 14 of the cylinders 13 being connected to rollers 20, 21 adapted to engage the cams 8, 9 respectively, so that each piston 16 in turn performs a low pressure working stroke followed by a high pressure working stroke. Operation is illustrated by Fig. 3, wherein in moving from position 24 to position 25, cam 10 causes the piston 16 to displace fluid under low pressure into a cylinder 6 as it moves from position 26 to position 27. Simultaneously piston 14 is raised by.cam 9. In moving from position 28 to 29, piston 14 is moved downwardly by cam 8 and high pressure is thus applied to a press tool 3 connected to piston 16. The high pressure is limited by a safety device 23 (see Fig. 4, not shown).
