Abstract

110,396. Tyler, S. F., and Naylor, E. H. Oct. 18, 1916. Electrodes for secondary batteries.-Pellets or fragments of lead or active material are contained in a series of horizontal or upright channels or tubes with lateral openings. As shown in Fig. 1, the pellets b are held in superposed lead channels e in a frame. As shown in Fig. 4, a number of tubes h open at their upper ends are burnt together and sealed at their lower ends; fresh pellets are added as required. The plates may be formed as described in Specification 1558/10. According to the Provisional Specification, the pellets may be held in a flat lead box or cage or in a tube open at one end; the frame or cage may be of non-conducting material.
