110,320. Hawkins, S., and Hawkins, S. C. June 9, 1917. Universal joints.- A universal joint is combined with a clutch which will allow one of the shafts to rotate freely. A number of balls d engage elongated recesses in the spherical end b of one shaft and in two rings f, g gripped between two disks h, i carried by the other shaft. The disks h, i are pressed together by springs on bolts j, and can be separated by inserting an implement in a groove k to allow the rings f, g to slip.
