Abstract

1,102,123. Safety harness. IRVING AIR CHUTE OF GREAT BRITAIN Ltd. 19 March, 1965 [20 Dec., 1963], No. 50476/63. Heading A3V. [Also in Division E2] Vehicle safety harness comprises lap belt sections 2 and 3 connected by a buckle 5, 6 and a shoulder strap 4 which carries a metal loop member 13 releasably engageable with a hook formation 11 on the buckle part 5 whether the parts 5 and 6 are connected or disconnected. The belt sections 2 and 3 are adjustable in length at an anchorage 8 secured to the vehicle floor and at the buckle part 6 respectively. The strap 4 carries conventional lengthadjusting means 14. The ends of sections 2 and 3 extend downwardly and rearwardly from the seat to their anchorages 8 at an angle of 30-45 degrees to the vehicle floor. The strap 4 may be mounted on the door pillar.
