Abstract

1,100,975. Roofing tiles. W. S. POWEL. 2, Feb., 1965, No. 4503/65. Heading E1B. A concrete roofing tile 10 comprises a convex portion 11 overlapping and integral with a concave portion 12, the two portions being offset in both thickness and length. The tiles 10 in the lowermost course are secured by nails 34 to rafters covered with plywood and fibreglass or felt, Fig. 8 (not shown); the tiles 10<SP>1</SP> in the next course seat on weather-sealing ridges on the lower tiles, the lower edge of portion 12<SP>1</SP> abutting the upper edge of portion 11. The second course of tiles is also nailed, but higher courses need not be. The projecting portions of the tiles in the lowermost course may be cut off.
