Abstract

1,097,854. Refrigerators. CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. March 3, 1966 [March 23, 1965], No. 9343/66. Heading F4H. In a refrigerated display cabinet cooled air is passed through rear door posts 15 which are provided with apertures 25 so that air flows substantially horizontally into the cabinet from any one post towards the adjacent post or posts. Shelves 20 are located on supports 19 which are fitted at variable locations to mounting rails 18 secured to the posts 15. Air deflectors are associated with the apertures 25 and may comprise scoops projecting into the posts, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), or may comprise grids (30), Fig. 5 (not shown), whose dividing walls project an increasing distance into the posts 15 in the direction of air flow therein. Air is circulated upwardly through the posts 15 to project an air curtain from the top 13 of the cabinet to a hollow front wall 14 for recirculation. Refrigeration and/or air moving means may be located in the bottom or top of the cabinet. Insulated rear access doors 22 are located between the posts 15 and the rear walls of the posts 15 have a compartment containing insulation (16), Fig. 2 (not shown).
