Abstract

A grooved drum for traversing yarns is made from aluminium alloy containing 1.0 to 5.0% by weight of copper and 3.0 to 6.0% by weight of silicon, the inner surface of said groove being provided with an anodic coating of more than 700 Hv in file hardness, and the peripheral surface of the drum body being formed with either a chrome plated coating of more than 700 Hv in file hardness or an anodic coating of more than 700 Hv in file hardness.
