Abstract

1,093,503. Balancing grinding wheels. SZERSZAMGEPIPARI MUVEK. March 8, 1966 [March 13, 1965], No. 10131/66. Heading B3D. [Also in Division F2] An arrangement for balancing a grinding wheel consists of a mounting spindle carried by a housing 1a an axial shaft 2 within the spindle 1 and carrying an eccentric balancing weight 5, the angular setting and effective radius of which can be adjusted by control units 6, 7 operating through an axial push rod 3. In the automatic system shown vibrations of the spindle 1 are fed to an electric signal converter 8 and via an amplifier 9 to an indicator 14 and level switch 13. The amplifier 9 is connected to an impulse generator 10 and an acceptance gate 12 connected in turn to the rotary and axial control units 6, 7, the former of which is provided with a reference impulse generator 11. In operation unit 6 rotates push rod 3 until the weight 5 is in the required balancing plane and unit 7 moves the rod axially until weight 5 is at the required working radius for balance. The control units 6, 7 are operated by mechanical gearing, Figs. 2 and 4 (not shown) balanced by a weight (25), the reference impulse generator 11 consisting of a magnet (32) mounted on weight (25) and passing in the vicinity of a coil (42, Fig. 4). The balancing adjustments may be effected by manual controls (26, 27, 29 Fig. 2).
