Abstract
1,091,689. Pressure resisting doors. FABRICACION DE MAQUINAS S.A. Feb. 25, 1966 [May 13, 1965], No. 8503/66. Heading F2P. [Also in Division F4] A closure assembly 16 for a peep-hole 14 in the vertical end-walls of a vertical drawing sheet glass forming machine, comprises first and second closure members, 20 and 18, the second member being threadably mounted on a rotatable shaft 26 and the first member being disposed between a shoulder 30 and an end retaining member 34 on a reduced portion 32 of the rotatable shaft, rotation of the shaft in one or other direction, by handle 28, causing the gap between the members to either increase or decrease and the hole to be sealed or unsealed respectively. To give better sealing a groove 36 receives packing material 38. The closure assembly is slidably mounted in upper and lower grooves, 40 and 42, having inwardly facing shoulder portions 44 and 46 which co-operate with the member 18 in effecting hermetical sealing, the grooves and shoulder portions preferably being integral parts of the roll bearing cover plates (Fig. 1). The openings may be used to permit the insertion of a forked tool to remove broken glass.
