Abstract

1,091,679. Fuel injection pumps. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Nov. 10, 1964 [Nov. 14, 1963], No. 45809/64. Heading F1A. In a fuel injection pump in which one member of the piston cam drive is angularly displaced by means of a hydraulic jack in accordance with the driven speed in order to vary the injection timing, the connection to the jack is closed during the injection period. Pressure in a conduit 24 to the jack cylinder 18 is supplied by a pump 23 and is variable in accordance with the driven speed; a valve 29 is hydraulically actuated by an auxiliary pump 30 to close the conduit 24 during the injection stroke of the piston 7, the jack being connected to a non-rotary cam 5, the cam followers 3 being rotated by the shaft 1. The piston 7 is secured for rotation with the followers 3 and distributes fuel to outlets 11 each of which has a valve 12. All of the outlets 11 communicate with the cylinder 8 at the end of each injection stroke.
