Abstract

[Also in Division G5] An edge-illuminated transparent sheet 2 has bonded thereto a transparent layer of small light-reflective beads such that the refractive index from sheet to air is changed to that from the sheet to the layer. As shown a transparent motif 4 is printed on the front face of a polymethyl methacrylate sheet 2 on the back of which a layer of reflective glass balls 6 is embedded in transparent varnish 7. The balls are covered by a further layer of varnish.
