1,088,632. Carrier bags. SMITH, ANDERSON & CO. Ltd. Aug. 14, 1964 [May 15, 1963], No. 19249/63. Heading A4G. A carrier bag of collapsible parallelepipedic form with reinforced bottom has a string loop handle 8 disposed in spaced holes or slots 10 in an upper reinforced closure flap 15 and adapted to pass around a tongue 12 formed by slots 11 in the lower reinforced flap 6. If the loop is single, it passes from the handle through the closed flap openings and lies along the underside of the lower flap. The loop may be doubled by twisting so that two passes lie along the underside, one locking the flaps and lying on the top side and the other forming the handle.
