Abstract
1,088,517. Tubular furnaces for catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons. J. SELLIN. April 26, 1965 [Nov. 5, 1964], No. 17515/65. Heading B1F. [Also in Division F4] Filling (e.g. catalytic) bodies are maintained in a predetermined position within a heated tubular reacton vessel by means of carrier elements secured on the outer surface of an inner tube, which tube is either part of the reaction vessel or is an insert. The carrier elements may be formed as metallic pins welded to the inner tube on which one or more annular bodies can be pushed (Fig. 2), or as support elements upon which the filling bodies in cylindrical or spherical form rest (Fig. 7). Gaps remain between the bodies for through-flow of reaction gases.
