Abstract

1,085,952. Grilles. VENESTA ALUMINIUM PRODUCTS Ltd. June 16, 1964 [June 20, 1963], No. 9756/63. Headings F4S and F4V. A grille comprises slats I each having a thickened longitudinal edge portion 1b, bridge pieces 2 made of natural or synthetic rubber, or elastic plastics material, disposed transversely at intervals along the slats closely engaging at least a part of the thickened edge portion, and each side of the slat adjacent that edge. The slats are made of extrudedaluminium or of aluminium alloy and the thickened edge may extend along the whole of the edge or occur only where there are bridge-pieces. The slats are held in slots 2d having undercut portions 2f to accommodate, the edge 1b. The bridge-pieces are reinforced by embedded metal strips 2a with tongues 2c to provide extra support, the ends of the strips 2a serving to hold the grille in its mountings. Extra support members 3 may be added (Fig. 5, not shown).
