Abstract

A cleaning composition for glass, in particular for vehicle windscreens, comprises an aqueous solution of pH 1.2-4.0 containin an anionic surface active agent and phosphoric acid. The acid may be orthophosphoric acid in a concentration 0.01-1% by weight of the total composition and the surface active agent a sodium alkyl aryl sulphonate, the two in a weight ratio of 0.5-2:1. The composition may be stored as a concentrated solution requiring a 20-fold volume dilution to bring it to the necessary pH and concentration for use. The water may be partially replaced by isopropanol.
