Abstract

1,079,742. Coiling sliver MASCHINENFABRIK RIETER A.G. Sept. 17, 1964 [Sept. 20, 1963], No. 38029/64. Heading D1F. Apparatus for depositing sliver into stationary cans comprises a wheel 3 rotatably mounted in frame 1, a turn plate 5 having a sliver channel 7, and eccentrically and rotatably placed in the wheel so that its axis of rotation moves circularly upon rotation of the wheel, and calender rollers 9 and drive means 22 therefore which are supported by a ring 8 so operatively connected to the turn plate that the calender rollers have a circular movement corresponding to that of the axis of the turn plate. An eccentric bushing 4 having an eccentric aperture 5<1> for the turn plate is adjustably fixed to wheel 3 so that the distance between the axis of rotation of plate 5 and that of wheel 3 may be adjusted. Flange 6 of the bushing is rotatable in ring 8 which is connected to the frame 1 by means 14-16, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that it can not rotate, but can move translatorily in a circle. Ring 8 also supports lid 12 having sliver guide 13, and means 18-21 connecting main drive shaft 17 to shaft 22. Turn plate 5 is rotated by toothed belt from gear wheel 20<1> on shaft 20. In a second embodiment, Figs. 3-5 (not shown), there are two rotatable wheels, each with their own turn plates &c., but sharing a single lid, with the support rings (8) being adjustably connected and supporting the calenders rollers, drive means therefore, and the lid.
