Abstract

1,078,073. Knitting-machines. FRANZ MORAT G.m.b.H. Aug. 26, 1964 [July 6, 1964], No. 35014/64. Heading D1C. [Also in Division G1] A slip free thread delivery device in a circular knitting machine is driven by an impulse or stepping motor, the control pulses of which are produced by a pulse shaper which receives pulses at a frequency proportional to the speed of the needle cylinder. In one embodiment, Fig. 1 (not shown) the needles are scanned, as the needle cylinder rotates, by a magnetic scanner 2 which produces a series of flip-flop pulses. Fig. 3 shows a second embodiment in which a light siren 26 produces pulses by means of a photo diode 29, these pulses are then shaped by the shaper 5 and fed to the impulse motor 1. The output drive is infinitely variable by means of cones 20 22 and a wheel 21 mounted on a rod 24 which may be moved electromagnetically by electromagnets in the casing 25. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5) three light sirens are provided, one for each feed of the knitting machine the drive of each being independently manually adjustable. A further embodiment (Fig. 4a) shows a light siren with four independant tracks any of which can be used by a switching arrangement to give a different output frequency to the pulse shaper and then to the motor.
