Abstract

[Also in Division F4] A pressure charge container for use inside a canister type fire extinguisher has a fracturable outlet, and a separate non-return inlet valve which can be connected to an outside source of air under pressure for pressurising the inside of the container. The fire extinguisher shown in Fig. 1 comprises cylindrical canister 10 with internally screwthreaded neck ring 12 bearing pressure charge container 30. Container 30 is sealed at its upper able diaphragm (40), and its lower end carries non-return inlet valve 44. A foot or hand pump or compressed air supply can be used to pressurise the container.
