Abstract

1,074,893. Radio absorbers. ELTRO G.m.b.H. Aug. 26, 1957 [Aug. 31, 1956], No. 26922/57. Heading H4A. A radar camouflage covering for ships, aircraft and rockets consists of a number of superimposed layers of synthetic substances, secured by an adhesive to the surface. Each layer consists of a mixture of the materials having Registered Trade Marks " Desmodur " and " Desmophen," the relative proportions being different in the different layers. The layers contain additives in powder form, such as.iron, graphite, ZnO, BeO, Ge, MgCO 3 , Al 2 O 3 , titanates, silicates, sulphates, phosphates. Alternating foils may be introduced between the layers consisting of aluminium or a non- conductor coated with graphite the thickness of which is a function of frequency of the incident wave. Layers formed of material having Registered Trade Mark " Igelit " and of " Oppanol " are also incorporated.
