Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A yarn false-twisting spindle 11, wholly or partly of ferromagnetic material, is magnetically retained between two supporting and/or driving rollers (12) 13, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) or pairs of discs, Figs. 4-6 (not shown) which frictionally engage the spindle which is thereby rotated by one or the other roller or pair and rotates the other roller or pair. One roller or each disc of a pair has an elastomeric polyurethane tyre 15 loosely held by the roller or disc when at rest and urged during rotation against radially inwardly facing cylindrical surfaces 17a.
