Abstract
Novel chelate compounds containing Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn and a compound of the general formula <FORM:1070702/C2/1> where R1 is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical having a nitrogen atom in the a -position, and R2, R3 and R4 are H or alkyl, and the addition compounds thereof, are prepared by adding a solution of the required metal organic or inorganic salt in water or an organic solvent to a solution of the heterocyclic compound in an organic solvent, or by adding an aqueous solution of the metal salt to an aqueous acid solution of the heterocyclic compound. Specified heterocyclic radicals include 41-thiazolyl, 31-isothiazolyl, 41-(1,2,3-thiadiazolyl) and 21-pyridyl. Anions and ligands necessary to maintain electrical neutrality of the chelate molecule, are, for example, tartrate, citrate, phthalate, acetate, gluconate, sulphate, oxide, hydroxide, chloride and nitrate.ALSO:Anthelmintic and nematocidal compositions contain at least one chelate compound containing Sc, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu or Zn and a compound of the general formula <FORM:1070702/A5-A6/1> where R1 is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic radical having a nitrogen atom in the a -position, and each of R2, R3 and R4 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical, or an addition compound thereof together with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent. The compositions may be formulated as solultion, suspensions or dispersions in aqueous media containing suspending or dispersing agents, and may be used to treat animals or soil.
