Abstract

1,069,929. Laminates. SCHœPBACH A.G. May 3, 1965 [May 1, 1964], No. 18467/65. Heading B5N. Packaging materials, the main sheet constituents may comprise aluminium foil alone or combined with paper or regenerated cellulose, are provided with an internal heatsealable layer containing certain materials, in the form of powders preferably smaller than the thickness of the layer, which absorb moisture, oxygen or CO 2 , the materials being manganous cobalt, iron or other hydroxides, calcium or magnesium oxide, and anhydrous copper, magnesium or sodium sulphate. The heat sealable layer may be of high or low density polythene, a polyamide, or paraffin or microcrystalline wax and may be applied by extruding or film-blowing a melt of the medium containing the powdered absorbent material.
