Abstract
106,772. White, A. E., (Toledo Scale Co.). Nov. 14, 1916. Computing-apparatus; pendulum-weight apparatus; platform machines; taring devices; vibration, neutralizing.-In a semi-automatic computing or other weighing-scale wherein the load is balanced by a pendulum 12 and by a tare beam 13 carrying sliding poises 14a, the platform lever mechanism is connected by a rod 10 to an intermediate lever 11 fulcrumed on a knife-edge 15. The intermediate lever 11 is connected to the pendulum 12 by a flexible band 26 and is connected to the tare beam by a rod 19, the former connexion being more remote from the fulcrum 15 than the latter connexion, thus obtaining the correct relative angular movements of the pendulum and tare beam and at the same time allowing the segment 24 of the pendulum to be made of relatively large radius. Buffers 34, 35 prevent undue movement of the pendulum 12 and lever 11. A dash-pot 33 is connected to the tare beam 13.
