A heat and sound-proof door comprises a rectangular soft-wood frame 12, 13 rails 14 dividing the frame into compartments each filled by a slab of expanded polystyrene 15 and plywood skins 18 secured to the outer faces of the frame 12, 13 and bonded by adhesive to the slabs of polystyrene and facing strips of hardwood on the outer vertical sides of the frame.
