Abstract

A fabric which is folded into superposed layers to make a babies' napkin is woven so that the middle part of each outer layer has a rib weave. The weave is either a weft rib or a warp rib depending on how the fabric is folded, the kind chosen being such that the floating threads lie widthwise of the napkin. The fabric consists of two separate plies interwoven at intervals into a single ply to form zones along which the fabric is folded.
