Abstract

1292300 Diapers RIEGEL TEXTILE CORP 12 Dec 1969 [13 Dec 1968] 60870/69 Heading A3V [Also in Division D1] A prefolded and sewn multilayer diaper is made from a two-ply woven material of which the first ply 12 has a greater fabric density and less open construction than the second ply, the material being folded and sewn at 24 so that the first ply forms the entire outer surface and provides wear resistance and the second ply forms inner layers and provides liquid absorbency. The first ply preferably has a warp end density greater than 39 yarns/inch and more preferably 40-64, the corresponding figures for the second ply being less than 37 and 16-36. Two warpwise extending strips 15, 16 having a warp end density in the range 66-90 may be provided in the first ply to form outside fold edges and further reduce wear.
