1,066,553. False-twist apparatus. ERNEST SCRAGG & SONS Ltd. Oct. 22, 1963 [Oct. 23, 1962], No. 40021/62. Heading D1D. A false-twist tube is driven by being held in contact, by a horse-shoe magnet, with driven and idle rollers there being a gap between the end faces of each pole of the magnet and the tube. The tube may have collars and the polepieces of the magnet may be concavely curved, while the roller may have an extension in contact with a driving belt. The tube may be axially treated by the magnet or by engagement of the collars with the plane faces of the rollers.
