Abstract
1,064,789. Scaffolding. COUNTY RIVERWAY BOILERS Ltd. Dec. 10, 1964 [Dec. 13, 1963], No. 49414/63. Heading E1S. A workmens staging 82 is raised and lowered by winches 51 on two parallel poles 14 resting on the ground and leaning against a building by means of adjustable arms at the top of the poles which are connected together by a bar. The frame 79-82 of the workmens platform is supported on brackets 76 on channels 48 sliding on the poles 14 the frame being secured in position by a hook 78 and a spring catch 83. Plates 49 on each channel 48 support a winch 51 and the plates 49 and plates 50 at the bottom of the channel carry rollers engaging the poles and a spring detent for holding the platform in position on teeth 23 on the pole and which is releasable by a lever. Each pole carries a horizontal and vertical quadrant at the top for supporting and adjusting angularly, the arms which engage the building and which are telescopic for adjusting their length. A platform 98 between the poles and the building is supported on members 95 telescopically adjustable in tubes 91 each fixed by a book and spring catch 92 to the frame 79-82.
