1,064,463. Milling. SCHWEISSWERK WATTENSCHEID G.m.b.H., [trading as SCHWEISSWERK WATTENSCHEID G.m.b.H. & CO., KOMM. GES.]. July 6, 1964 [July 6, 1963], No. 27873/64. Headings B3B and B3K. Means for milling chill moulds comprises a milling cutter 3 slidably mounted on a support 4 which can be mounted in the mould by two spaced gripping means 5, 6. The slide 2 is traversed by a cable drive 13 and the cutter is rotated by an hydraulic motor 14. The gripping means include screws 7, 7<SP>1</SP> and hydraulic piston devices 9, 11. Projections 15 enable the apparatus to be supported on a chassis for transport. The cutter and motor are adjustable about a pivot 17 by screws 19. All the adjusting screws may be provided with handwheels and gauges. A support roller may also be provided.
