Abstract

1,063,534. Filter with a float. W. DAN BERGMAN A.B. June 8, 1965 [June 12, 1964], No. 24158/65. Heading BID. An apparatus for removing sludge and slime from swimming pools which incorporates an annular float 12 to partially support its weight and to maintain its erect position in the water, comprises a submersible pump 1, a flattened nozzle 2 which contains a coarse screen (3) and has brushes (5) and rollers (4) at its base, a liquid permeable sludge sack 11 at the outlet end, and a pivoted control rod 7, whose angle of inclination to the pump can be adjusted by link member 8 and peg 9. In operation, sludge on the coarse screen is deposited in the receptacle (18) of a trolley (16) by stopping the pump.
