Abstract

The washing liquid container 2 of a washing machine is connected by a first conduit 1 to a straining device 3 containing a straining element 5 which device is connected respectively to a water supply conduit 8 and a discharge pump 7 so that, in operation, washing liquid is pumped from the container 2 by the pump 7 through the straining element whereas, when fresh liquid is supplied to the container 2, it passes through the strainer in the opposite direction.
