Abstract

1,062,654. Gas lighters. SAMAO S.A. May 19, 1964 [May 16, 1963], No. 20668/64. Heading F4F. The reservoir for liquefied gas for a lighter is made by cutting out the solid aluminium alloy body of the lighter. The base of the reservoir is closed by a plate which is secured to the body by means of a heat-hardening resin. A filling valve is mounted on the closure plate and comprises a ball urged by a spring against a flexible annular packing. The gas is fed to the burner through a valve which is opened by a resilient tongue connecting the stem of the valve and a flame cover cap. The gas is ignited by sparks from a flint and a manually actuated flint wheel. A timepiece or a compass may be mounted in a recess in the lighter body.
