106,231. Dumont, G. Nov. 10, 1916. Lathes; chucks. - The hollow spindle of a lathe is prevented from end movement by a front flange b<2> and a collar b. A bevel-closing collet D<2> has a bayonet connexion at d<2> with a rod D controlled by a spring E to close the chuck and by a cam G acting through a sliding bearing a<4> for release.
