Abstract

The invention comprises the compound of the formula <FORM:1062190/C2/1> Such compound is prepared by reacting o-aminophenylacetonitrile with propionic anhydride and hydrogenating 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid phenyl ester in admixture with the o-propionamidophenylacetonitrile in the presence of Raney nickel and separating the desired product. The product is employed in a cyan colour forming developer (see Division G2).
