Abstract

Materials or articles such as textile fibres metals or insulating materials, are dry-cleaned or degreased by the application of a liquid composition comprising hexafluorodichlorobutene. The hexafluorodichlorobutene may be used in association with a surface-active agent and/or a cleaning intensifier and/or a halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon whose boiling-point differs from that of the hexafluorodichlorobutene by not more than 30 DEG C. The latter includes trans-dichloroethylene, trichloroethylene and trichlorofluoroethanes.
