[Also in Division E2] A closure for a flexable receptacle comprises two spring blades 5, 6 disposed parallel to each other in superposed position in the closing position of said closure and in substantitially end-to-end position in the opening position of said closure respectively, a U-shaped member 7 disposed at each end of the closure having a base and two oppositely disposed leg members 10 spaced from each other, the end portions of said spring blades being received between said leg members, pivot means for connecting the adjacent end portions of said spring blades to said U-shaped members after being received between said leg members and washers 13 of friction reducing material disposed between the end portions of said spring blades and the inner faces of said leg members,, said base of said U-shaped member being spaced from a lateral end face of each of said spring blades, in the position of maximum opening of said closure, in order to permit a turning of said spring blades into an inclined over dead centre position after the blades have passed the position of maximum opening, in which they are in alignment, and said base operating as a stop for preventing further movement of said spring blades beyond said inclined over dead centre position. In use the blades are each contained in a sleeve 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> formed by folding an edge portion of the opening of the receptacle around the corresponding blade and sewing it into position. Each blade has a shoe 12 mounted on each end portion and the washers 13 are disposed between the outer lateral faces of the shoes and the inner faces of the leg members. The shoes, washers and spring blades are secured together by eyelets. A tongue member 17 prevents longitudinal movement between the blades and each U-shaped member, the tongue being engaged in a recess in the other leg member; the tongue is positioned between the shoes of the two blades and projections 19 on the shoes engage the tongue to prevent the movement of the blades.
