Abstract
1,057,774. Magnetic compositions. NIPPON ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 28, 1964 [Feb. 28, 1963], No. 8511/64. Heading H1H. NiZn ferrite materials include 0À01-4À6 mol. per cent tantalum pentoxide to improve their magnetic properties, particularly Á, Q, 1/ÁQ, and the temperature coefficient of initial permeability. Small quantities of CuO and Co 2 O 3 may also be included. Specified basic NiZn ferrites to which the Ta 2 O 5 is added are: 50 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 , 22 mol. per cent NiO, 28 mol. per cent ZnO, 50 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 , 25 mol. per cent NiO, 25 mol. per cent ZnO, 50 mol. per cent Fe 2 O 3 , 31 mol. per cent NiO, 19 mol. per cent ZnO. The Ta 2 O 5 may be added at any convenient time in a manufacturing process which includes presintering for 4 hours at 800‹ C., grinding, compacting, and sintering at 1150‹ C. for one hour in O 2 or at 1200‹ C. or 1100‹ C. for three hours in air.
